The outpatients department is based on Level 3 of St Mark’s Hospital. The clinics are by booked appointment only. Each consultant has a team of specialist registrars who work alongside them; it may not always be possible for you to see your Consultant personally, and so you may see one of the registrars during your appointment.

Your Outpatient Appointment

When you come to the hospital for your outpatient appointment, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the appointment, and make sure you have your appointment letter with you. While we endeavour to see patients as close to the time specified on your letter as possible, sometimes we experience delays due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make sure you are informed of any delays, but you may like to bring a book or a magazine to read while you wait.

Patients are seen in order of appointment time, rather than order of arrival to the clinic. There may be a number of different clinics being run in the same department, so if you notice patients who arrived after you being seen first, bear in mind that they may be seeing a different doctor.

It is helpful for us to have as many contact details for you as possible, and for you to ensure that these are up to date. If any of your personal details have changed, please inform the receptionist of the clinic.

After Your Appointment

Your doctor will tell you if you need a further appointment – please remember to book this appointment with our reception staff before you leave. You will be given an appointment card, which you should bring with you when you attend the clinic.

If you need to change your outpatient appointment time, please phone the telephone number on your appointment letter. Alternatively, phone 020 8235 4051 to speak to the Outpatients Department.
