Description of service

Members of the Macmillan Colorectal Team:

The Macmillan Colorectal Team at St Mark’s offers the following services to all colorectal cancer patients:

  • Support at diagnosis and provision of written Information
  • Emotional support
  • Help with applying for grants/benefits
  • Symptom control
  • Referral to the Community Macmillan services and other appropriate healthcare professionals (the Stoma Care team, Dietitians, the Chemotherapy team)
  • Bowel management after rectal cancer treatment
  • Advice regarding local support groups/counselling services
  • We offer monthly Moving Forward Clinics, a 3-monthly HOPE course and annual Colorectal Health and Wellbeing Events to patients who have completed their treatment
  • Supporting patients with the Recovery Package

Location within the hospital

The team is based in the Macmillan Cancer Unit, on Level 6 of St Mark’s Hospital. This service also covers Ealing Hospital. 

Hours of service

The team are available from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
